Product Description Backyard barbecues haven't changed too much, but the grills have certainly improved, like this Weber One Touch Gold Grill in Blue. One-Touch cleaning system lets you move a single lever to sift ashes into the removable catch pan ??? no hassle and no mess! In addition, the lid and bowl are made of heavy-gauge porcelain-enameled steel, and hinged grills are triple nickel-plated. Legs are rust-resistant aluminum as is the high-capacity ash catcher. Handles are made of weather resistant nylon and are glass reinforced. Plus, each Weber One Touch Gold grill features crackproof all-weather wheels, so you can grill plenty of food in any corner of your yard. Check the Weber cookbook for some all-time favorite recipes. Please Note: Gift wrapping is not available on this item.About Weber... In 1951, the first kettle-shaped grill was born. A year later, Weber barbecues dotted backyards across the country, and eventually the product line expanded to include top-of-the-line gas grills. Weber has incorporated quality features such as flavorizer bars, porcelain-enameled cooking grates and unique burner systems that have built on their reputation for quality. Their complete line now includes more than a dozen styles of grills, plus all the accessories you need to enjoy your grilling experience.
Weber Weber's One-Touch Gold kettle grill is a great buy for anyone looking for a classic model with a few convenient extras. The design is sleek. The results are delicious. As with all Weber grills, this kettle's lid and bowl are constructed of premium porcelain-enameled steel--which means not only does heat radiate evenly, but the grill will survive if it's left out in the rain. The cooking surface (22-1/2 inches in diameter) is big enough to accommodate six large steaks, twice as many burgers, or up to a dozen kebabs, and the grill's classic kettle shape keeps flare-ups to a minimum. When designing this grill, Weber clearly kept convenience in mind. The grill's nickel-plated grate has two built-in hinged side openings that make adding more charcoal briquettes easy and safe, and, when the lid's not in use, it can hang from the bowl by a handy hook. The grill is durable, too. The porcelain-coated steel bowl and lid are exceptionally strong and designed never to rust, fade, or peel. The grill's aluminum vents and ash catcher won't rust either, and its tripod base, nylon handles, and all-weather wheels--besides being exceptionally sturdy--make the grill remarkably easy to maneuver. Weber's patented One-Touch cleaning system--a clever setup of lever-activated blades--sifts ash out of the kettle and into a cooking-pot-shaped ash catcher. You never have to get your hands dirty--and emptying the kettle takes only a few seconds. To top it all off, Weber throws in a 31-page owner's guide filled with cooking tips and time-tested recipes for grilling everything from pork chops to bratwurst to Cornish hens.

Terrific quality August 28, 2010 Joerg Eggers (Henstedt-Ulzburg) We have a similar model One Touch Premium home (Germany) and the quality of Weber pays off. I brought the old chinese bbq to trash today ;-).
The Weber is very solid build and comes ready to go with drop pans and charcoal holders (wires). Bought a chimney from Weber since the reviews were so good. Tried direct and indirect, keep on training.
Will not to back to chinese quality again.
Since we live in Northern Germany usage of this bbq is limited to summer time, completed with a Q200 grill.
Beware of the chipped Porcelain August 17, 2010 Nino Listen I can't attest to the greatness of this grill as all the previous reviewers have claimed, sadly because I haven't been able to get to the grilling part. My first order arrived with chipped porcelain and a squashed handle and after I called back the customer service rep was quick to offer a replacement, but alas there were none in stock... An hour later the grill reappeared I called and Bam a replacement was sent. I got the new one and De;Javu, same chip same handle, different grill. I am not the first customer to get this. So beware of the defective grills in this series. I am going to go look for one in person instead of playing Russian roulette again with Amazon, if only they can personally check them before sending...
Grilling to Perfection July 6, 2010 jhkerch (Mahomet, IL) I love my new Weber. It has a super big ash catcher basket so I don't have to empty it every time. It came with an instruction book, & recipe tips. I am so very happy with my grill!
Great Grill June 24, 2010 B. Wollmer (WI USA) I bought this as an early Father's Day gift for my husband. He is very pleased with it. He grills with natural hardwood charcoal and is especially pleased with the shut off vents that allow him to preserve his charcoal after he is done grilling. He has been able to grill 3 separate times with the same load of charcoal. I appreciated the fact that it was easy to assemble. The blue color looks really sharp.
Simple and effective June 18, 2010 Mathew T. Duafala (San Jose, CA USA) I switched to using this (in the blue) from a 10 year old gas grill about 6 months ago. I am absolutely in love with it, and BBQ every chance I get. The product itself is very high quality, with a nice powder coated or enameled finish (not sure which), that appears as though it will last a long time. With a chimney starter and some of the weber bbq starters, getting it fired up is no problem at all (just takes about 20 minutes of drinking beer and watching it).
The method I use is to take the cooking grate off, and place the starter cube on the lower grate, then I put the chimney starter on top and pour my coals in. Wait until the coals are coated in a white ash, and pour them to one side of the lower grate. That way, I can control the temps I'm cooking with by moving my food closer or further from coals. This also makes it simple to sear the meet directly over the coals, then move it a little further away for the rest of the cooking time.
Pros
Works great
Good quality material and construction
Cleaning the ashes is simple and easy
Price was pretty good (much better quality than the other charcoal grills I looked at in this price range)
Cons
no built in thermometer (the platinums have one)
No built in tables or work surfaces of any kind
Overall, I am very happy with this grill. If I was going to buy another, I would probably upgrade to the platinum model (which is admittedly $100 more), to get the thermometer, work tables and an easier to use lid holder.
